Do You Know Your God?

Do You know Your God? You may be taken aback by this question. You may even be offended by this question. But it is a question that needs to be asked. I know about president Obama but I really don’t know him. I know about many people that I really do not know especially when it comes to predicting their behavior. When it comes to knowing God, I submit to you that knowing God is trusting God. We have never seen God. We have faith and trust that God exists and that He is who He has said He is. In our study of Daniel chapter 11, we come across the vision that he was given on things to come in his future. The vision is about great wars that will take place and various maneuvering, intrigues and posturing by political leaders/rulers. The visions have come true as we understand them. In fact the visions of chapter 11 are enlargement of visions of previous chapters about the kingdoms of Persia and Greece. Tucked in the midst of these vision narratives is a profound statement about those who

Demons Cannot Stop You

Demons Cannot Stop You There comes a time when it seems that nothing is working and heaven seem silent. When you try many things and they don’t work and you pray and fast and it seems nothing is happening. Well, there are sometimes oppositions by spiritual forces “demons” that sometimes oppose our efforts. There is always a reason behind everything. Please note that every delay is not the same and we cannot make a theology that every delay or unanswered prayer is caused by opposition of the devil. Some delays are due to our own stupid mistakes or ignorance or lack of obedience in what God has already revealed to us. Some of us are facing so many trials at these times that you may be ready to give up hope. Please hang in there. It is not over. Help is on the way. Today, in our study, we see help on the way for Daniel who had been praying and fasting for three weeks. Concerned for his people and the restoration of Israel, Daniel had “mourned” and cried to the Lord. The “Prince of Pe
Christ Is The Answer Prayer is our invitation for God to grant us revelation and understanding of Himself. This is why the Scripture instructs us to pray saying, “If any of you lack wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5. This is exactly what Daniel did as he asked for wisdom to understand all that was going on around him. Remember that Daniel was in exile in a foreign land of Babylon instead of his home in Jerusalem. We are equally in a foreign land and this place is not our home. We are hoping for a better country whose builder is God “they (saints of old who lived by faith) were looking for a better country- a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them”. Hebrew 11:16. Daniel was homesick. Are you homesick? Or are so caught up with the good old USA (or name your earthly country) that you are thinking this is a permanent home? This is the only sic
