Futility of their Mind

Futility of their Mind Olsen et al.,in their book Viewing the World Ecologically ,referred to “Worldviews as ‘mental lenses’ or cognitive and perceptual maps that we continually use to find our way through the social landscape surrounding us….The dominant worldview in the culture of a society normally pertains to the totality of human existence and most aspects of social life. Virtually everything that we experience is shaped by the perceptions provided by our view of the world. Since the dominant worldview is generally held by most members of that society, it normally establishes the culturally accepted definitions of social reality…For example, a recent survey of college students in the United States found that over one-third of them believe that ghosts exist, and two-fifths of them believe that it is possible to communicate with the dead (Eve 1988).” Apostle Paul has by the power of the Holy Spirit documented the World’s prevailing worldview in Ephesians 4:17-24. TO and FRO Saint

TO and FRO Saint Immaturity! There are people (no fault of theirs) who have a condition where they grow old but still in the childlike body and mannerisms. Metro News had the following headline with photo: 26- year-old man with body of a two-year- old. “Jerly Lyngdoh – who lives with his farmer parents in Meghalaya, northern India – looks like any other tot with his tiny head and delicate 2ft 9ins long body. But it’s only when he opens his mouth to reveal a full set of adult teeth that the truth about the world’s oldest baby is revealed…Said pediatrician Dr. J. Ryndong, ‘We think this is a case of pan-hypo pituitarism leading to poor secretion of growth hormones from the pituitary gland…Jerly – who is still dressed in baby clothes by his parents”. We empathize and pray for such people and God is taking care of them. In our study today, Paul instructs the Ephesians not to be “To and Fro” believers in Christ acting like infants. Let’s listen to the Holy Spirit thru Paul, Ephesians 4

Pastor or a Pester?

Pastor or a Pester? Pastor or a Pester? Yes, you heard me. Which one are you or which one(s) do you have in your local church assembly? A Pester harasses with petty annoyance; bother and nag continually. Continuing with our study in Ephesians, God has given His Church equipping gifts so we can “walk worthy of our calling”. 7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift…11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:7-13 I read the following in a Devotional titled, ‘Love Your Pastor’. “Pastors have a tough job. They get more kicks than kisses. If a pastor is young he lacks experience; if he’s gray-haired he’s too old

The Equipping Gifts to the Church

The Equipping Gifts to the Church I can think of the NASCAR race and those on the sideline whose job it is to get the cars and drivers ready to run the race. They also quickly fix the cars when they brake and put them back into the race. I also can think of the coaches for many games that stay by the side to coach and encourage the players so they can do what they were meant to do – play and win games. That is how I would like to think of those whom God have given the Church to equip us to live out our lives for Jesus and run this race we have been called to. In Ephesians 4, we see Paul giving us examples of four gifts and graces God has given the Church. These are just examples and not an exhaustive list namely Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors/Teachers. Paul writes as follows: 7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift… 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12
