Giving Thanks To God Even For & In Pain - Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Saints, This year was very challenging health-wise for my family. My son was hospitalized for an extended period, and I had major health issue. I am sure you have had some challenges, maybe in health, relationships, finances, etc.  I heard a minister say you cannot honestly give thanks to God until you have had things that make you so sad that you would have to dig deep to still thank God. I believe that is in line with Scriptures such as: “But be filled with the Spirit,  19  speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,  20  giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  Ephesians 5:18-20. “16  Rejoice always,  17  pray without ceasing,  18  in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you . 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. So, can we give thanks “ in everything ” and “ for all things ”? Yes, we can. This is the Word of God, and it is for ou

Have We Ceased From Sin & Sinning? - Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Saints, A brother, Shaun, called in from London, England, asking for prayers that God would deliver him from drunkenness and illegal drugs. He called to a worldwide Bible reading/prayer forum called Daily Audio Bible (DAB check it out). Shaun confessed his sin and narrated how he has been back and forth in this lifestyle and hates his condition.   Now, this is an honest brother, and his vulnerability humbled me. I joined many crying out to the Lord to set Shaun free from this bondage of sin. Please pray for Shaun; thank you.   As we continue our study of 1 Peter, the apostle through the Holy Spirit confronts the pilgrims and us with the sins of our old lives before we believed and trusted in Christ. Let’s hear Peter:   4 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, f or he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God

Where Is Jesus, His Authority And Power?

Dear Saints, Where is Jesus? Have you looked for Him lately, and what is He doing now? What is His span of control and authority? We live in a day when we have reduced God to our level of limited knowledge, wisdom and power. We are looking for elected officials to solve our problems instead of looking only to God. In this unsettled mid-term USA election, who cares who has control of the White House and Congress? God is in control of His world. Our trials have left us faithless in God. What about people like Job? We have not gone through what Job went through, and God was still there in the midst of it all. Ten of your children dying in a day? As we continue our study of 1 Peter, we must remind ourselves that Apostle Peter is writing to suffering pilgrims ruled by brutal governments. Peter’s audience is eagerly waiting for the appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ. His Epistle is for the end time people, and that is who we are. Let's hear Peter: "There is also an antitype which n

Who Raised Jesus From The Dead & Why Does It Matter?

Dear Saints, Who raised Jesus from the dead? And why does it matter to us? We are encountering more questions in our study of 1 Peter that demand answers. Listen to Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 1:20-21: “He [Jesus] indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 21 who through Him believe  in God, who raised Him from the dead  and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” Here, Peter said God raised Jesus from the dead. Now, in 1 Peter 3:18 we read, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but  made alive by the Spirit. ” Here, the Holy Spirit is the one that raised Jesus Christ from  the dead, that is “made alive.” And then, we hear directly from Jesus Christ: “Jesus answered and said to them, “ Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”  20 Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, an
