A Voice in the Wilderness?

We continue our in-depth study of John 1. Our question today is, who is John the Baptist and why did He show up before Jesus? Remember, there are two Johns in the book of John. There is John the Baptist, the locust eating guy and John, the apostle and the writer of the book/Gospel of John. This is to say, we each have our place and purpose in the Kingdom of God and in His design and plan before the world began. The religious leaders of the past and the present (the world system) would define you and tell you who you are if you allow them. That's what they did to John the baptist. Hear, John the Baptist, “23 He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the Lord,” What and where is your own voice today? Is it the voice announcing the Gospel of Grace of Jesus to our depraved generation? We are all living in the “wilderness” of USA (and the rest of the world) where TRUTH (Jesus) is absent in the public square, sadly in some pulpits and homes

The LAW vs. GRACE and TRUTH

We continue our in-depth study of John chapter 1. Last week, we looked at the LAW vs. GRACE and TRUTH. “16 [g]And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” John 1:16-17. So what’s the big deal about the LAW vs. GRACE and TRUTH? We often have this misconception that the Old Testament is all about the Law and the New Testament is all about Grace. Not quite true. GRACE has always been and likewise the TRUTH even before creation. Jesus Christ is the GRACE and the TRUTH. He has always been because He is the beginning and the end, the creator of all things. Now, Jesus (who is God) has showed up in person in the form of a human to give us HIMSELF – GRACE and TRUTH. The LAW was given by God through Moses to show us how much we desperately need GRACE and TRUTH. The LAW reveals our heart, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9. In G

Is Jesus God? and Who is a Child of God?

We continue our in-depth study of the Gospel of John. We are on chapter 1. We have asked and answered two most important questions – Is Jesus God? And, Who is a Child of God? John 1:1, 14 clearly tell us that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. Also, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us”, And 18 “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God” (NIV). If we are not convinced of this truth, there is no need studying the Bible. Only a perfect God and God Himself can take on the form of humans and die for humans as a perfect sacrifice. This is a non-negotiable truth for us and for all of Christianity. This truth sets Christianity apart and different from every other religion. Christianity is therefore a relationship with the almighty God and it is not a religion. It is not whether Christianity is better but it is the only answer through the preaching of the Gospel to a sinful world. Never sympathize with an
