Come and see Jesus?

Dear Saints: We continue our in-depth study of John 1. Today we meet Philip and Nathanael, two apostles of Christ. Jesus personally invited Philip to follow him unlike some of the other disciples. The point is that Jesus himself is personally calling us to himself. But it does not stop there. When we get called and meet Jesus, the next supernatural thing is to call our friends and family to come and meet Jesus. When they do come, they will never be the same. Philip goes and called Nathanael (Bartholomew same person). Jesus surprises Nathanael telling him his true self- a man of integrity. Before that, Nathanael’s bias would have robbed him the life-time joy of meeting God as he later confessed. Some of us are still being stopped by our biases and prejudices of people groups and nations. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” We are still asking. Can anything good come out the worst ghettos of our cities or countries? We say things like, “those Whites, those Blacks, those

Do You Believe? Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Dear Saints: "Jesus said to him, [f]“Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20: 29.(Please read the entire resurrection account in John 20) The events of these weeks define who we are and whose we are. Jesus will go to Jerusalem, accused, brutalized, nailed to the cross, died, buried, rose from the dead, was with his disciples and with more than other 500 witnesses and then ascended into heaven where He is exalted and continuously praying for us. And Jesus is coming back soon to take us to be with Him forever. This is the greatest news ever, the best Good Friday and the GOOD NEWS of the GOSPEL. What is the alternative? Hell torment and everlasting separation from God. That is what we are saved from because we have all sinned and have missed the mark set by a Holy God; thus we all deserve hell forever. Good works will not save anyone, though we are saved to do good works. Only believe in Jesus an

Be an Andrew, Be a Disciple

Dear Saints: We continue our in-depth study of John 1. Many young people often have someone they wanted to be like when they grow up. In those days, it used be people like Michael Jordan because of his God-given gift of basket maneuvers and excellence on the court. Who do you want to be like when you “grow up”. May I recommend a not so well known name, Andrew. He was one of John the Baptist’s followers. When Andrew saw Jesus, he switched from John and followed Jesus and later became one of Christ’s disciples. “40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the [l]Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of[m]Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, [n]A Stone).” John 1:40-42. When you find the Messiah, you do not hesitate to follow Him. Note that John

Gospel Outreach Thursday

Today is the first Thursday of April and our Gospel outreach day. We thank God for the new month. Let’s spend our lunch time to go out of our way to be a friend to a co-worker, school mate, or a neighbor. Take someone to lunch, and maybe offer to pay for it. Spend time to pray for the co-worker, school mate or neighborhood who is sick or has a sick family member. Let’s be Christ-extended to someone. May we be reminded who we are today and reflect the Christ in us to others. Help God the Father gather His children to Himself. Give people Jesus today. Go out today with some Gospel tracts to give people on the street or whoever you meet. Pray for specific names to receive Christ in their hearts today: 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and [b]prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himsel
