The Four Living Creatures And Our Worship

Dear Saints: We were made for one purpose to worship God. No, God is not an egomaniac who needs our worship. He is doing us a favor and giving us the opportunity to worship Him. It is not that if we do not worship Him, He is not God. He is still God with or without our worship. Our worship does not make God more of God; neither does our lack of worship make Him less of God. We are the ones who need God. So, what is worship? “The word worship comes from an old English word that means “worthship.” It means to ascribe value to.”  We worship God with all our being and not just singing. We were made for “His pleasure”. As we continue our study of Revelation, we see that apostle John is given a vision of what is going on in heaven and will go on forever: Let’s continue to read Revelation 4: “The  four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” 9

The Throne And The 24 Elders - Are We There Yet?

  Dear Saints: We are in Revelation 4.  Apostle John, “in the Spirit” has been ushered into heaven to see what is going on there but still to happen in the future. Remember that the first sentence in this chapter 4 is as follows:   “  After these things I looked, and behold, a door  standing  open in heaven.” After what things? I believe that it is referring to the previous chapters 1-3 and especially 2-3 where the Church still existed on the earth. We learned about the seven churches which I believe represent all churches of all ages. Now “after these things” will possibly mean after the existence of the church on earth. By implication, the church is now in heaven by means of the “Rapture” (1 Thessalonians 4).  " I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon   the whole world, to test those who dwell   on the earth" Revelation 3:10.    Apostle John is seeing the church in heaven represented by the “twenty-four elders” worshiping before the throne of God;

Things To Come - End-Time Visions

  Dear Saints: As we begin our study of Revelation chapter 4 to 22, we enter into a different territory. We move from “things which are” here on earth to “ the things which will take place after this”.  We move into the realm of heavenly visions Jesus gave to Apostle John.  “ After these things I looked, and behold, a door  standing  open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard  was  like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Revelation 4:1. We are moving into Christian Eschatology, the “theology concerned with death, judgment, and the final destiny of the soul and of humankind”; of last things, end times and Christian hope. Eschatology in the book of Revelation is broad, wide, and narrow and subject to various understandings of what exactly the Scriptural texts are saying; and interpretations of what they mean to us and how they govern our lives. Most of us bring presuppositions into the reading and unders

Cure For The Yoyo (aka Lukewarm) Church/Christian

Dear Saints: Last week, Jesus gave us the diagnosis of the yoyo, lukewarm Christian. Again, the yoyo lukewarm Christian is a spineless Christian. He or she is neither hot or cold but lukewarm. Jesus has a solution:  "Therefore be zealous and repent" . Be hot or cold but not lukewarm. Good news! Oh Yes; He will get us there through life’s refining circumstances. I am a living specimen like many others throughout Christian history of God's work of grace. Please read on. Let’s read again from Revelation 2 (please read the entire chapters 2 and 3): “And to the   angel of the church  of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen,   the Faithful and True Witness,   the Beginning of the creation of God:   15  “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.   16  So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither   cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.   17  Because you say,   ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of
