Dear Saints, What are you working hard to leave behind? We will all leave behind something after us. What is it for you and me? The question is often answered with death in mind, and rightly so. But we do leave legacies in seasons of life, such as from one job to another, from child-rearing to empty nesting, from singleness to marriage, etc. As we continue our study of 2 Peter, we encounter Peter reflecting on the urgency and reason for the legacy he is leaving behind for the suffering pilgrims. We must be doing the same as Apostle Peter. Listen to Peter: “12 Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught. 13 And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live. 14 For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life,15 so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone.” 2 Peter 1:12-14. Dear Saints, There are the last days; there is also the day of the Lord—two different things and events. One is a period, and the other is a fixed day/date. Jesus spoke about both while answering the disciples' questions in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 7. Please read and study these words of Jesus in addition to the book of Revelation regarding the end times and the day of the Lord. As we continue our study of 2 Peter, let us hear the apostle Peter speak about the day of the Lord, which is the day of Judgment on the earth: "But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve Judgment. 11 Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, 12 looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens
Where are you at the moment? Are you looked down upon and doing the work nobody else wants to do? Are you in a stinking situation (sheep stinks) literally and figuratively? Are you in the dark where there seems like the light would not shine into? Welcome to the night of the shepherds in the Christmas account. Let's remind us as follows: "Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and sa
