Are We Saved By Water Baptism?

Dear Saints, Are we saved by water baptism? In other words, is water baptism required to enter into eternal life and be with Christ forever? I get it. You are saying why are you asking me these hard questions like the last study on whether there is second chance for salvation after death. Simple. We are doing Bible study. We need answers to hard questions we encounter as we read the Bible. As we continue our study of 1 Peter, we see another difficult passage. Let's hear Apostle Peter: "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring   us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,  19  by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison,  20  who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while  the  ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.  21   There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal

Is There A Second Chance For Salvation After Death?

Dear Saints Is there a second chance for salvation after death? No, no, and no. Why? “He[Christ] has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.  27  And as  it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment ,  28  so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” Hebrews 9:26-28. As we continue our study of 1 Peter, we will see the source of this false notion, theology, or belief of a second chance for salvation after death. Bad translation from Greek to English is the primary reason for the false notion of salvation after death. The key word here is “preach” (evangelize) as opposed to “proclaim;” in the case of the King proclaiming His authority and rule). The King James and some other translations used preached instead of proclaim.  Now in the context of Jesus’ suffering, his death and burial, and resurrection, Apostle Peter refers to Jesus "proclaiming&qu

Christ Suffered Once For Sins. So What?

Dear Saints Christ Suffered Once Sins. So What? We were all shocked at the brutality in the movie “The Passion of the Christ.”(Mel Gibson, 2004). If you have never watched it you may want to but be warned that your stomach may turn upside down.  The horrific physical violence against Christ is the worst any living human ever encountered. Even worse is the rejection of Jesus by His Father because of sin. A just God must punish sin and He is required to by His own law. “The soul that sins must die.” Why did Christ have to suffer and die? Paul summarized it as follows: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5: 21. A perfect, sinless God humbled himself, became a human, and lived a perfect, sinless human life to assume the sins of humans to die for humans for their punishment for sins.. The suffering and sacrifice of Christ is the best news ever for humanity, and we call it the Gospel. It’s the best exchange in

Suffer For Doing Good, Not Evil. Point People To The Christ In You

Dear Saints, Suffer for Doing Good, not Evil. Point People to the Hope in You – "Christ in You, the Hope Glory." You know we still do some foolish things even as believers in Christ. If you habitually come late to work and get disciplined or fired, that's not persecution. The loss of the job is your suffering for not doing good. Of course, we will suffer for doing good. It is almost guaranteed.  As we continue our study of 1 Peter, Apostle Peter keeps reminding us that our good will often be repaid with bad in our world. As such, we should not stop doing good like our Lord Jesus. Let's read 1 Peter 3:13-17:   13 " And who  is  he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?  14  But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake,  you are  blessed .  "And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled."   15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always  be  ready to  give  a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for

Your Tongue Is The Problem. Seek And Pursue Peace

Dear Saints, "Refrain Your Tongue from Speaking Evil and Deceit" Last week, we learned to be of one mind, "the mind of Christ," love one another, be courteous, and repay evil with good. Today, apostle Peter emphasizes the point by quoting Psalm 34:12-16 as follows, 1 Peter 3: 11-12: "But on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.   10  For  "He who would love life And see good days, Let him   refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.  11  Let him   turn away from evil and do good;  Let him  seek peace and pursue   it. 12  For the eyes of the   Lord   are   on the righteous, And His ears   are open   to their prayers; But the face of the   Lord   is   against those who do evil." "Refrain Your Tongue from speaking Evil and Deceit?" Almost impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit. Who has ever done so? If that's the case, why is the admonition here, and those
