The "S" Word Slavery. Are You Free?

Dear Bondservants of God, Yes, the “S” word, Slavery. Can we even talk about it in our “woke” society, especially in the USA? Why not? Is there still slavery and slave trade in the world? Yes, there are. The most significant slavery going on every day is slavery to sin. The rich and the poor are not free but under the bondage of sin. The Greek word translated to slave “literally means to be owned by someone for a lifetime.” “You were slaves of sin…But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:20-23. Are you free from the slavery of sin through Jesus Christ? "So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free." Of course, there are other forms of old and modern slavery like the one experienced by millions of Africans in the Americas and the Western world. There is also thriving

Submit To Authorities. Are You Kidding?

Dear Saints, Submit to every authority (the position). Even a Democratic or Republican party-led government? Yes. Submit to all authorities, even the mean ones as was at the time of Apostle Peter’s writing to the suffering Pilgrims? Yes. No human authority is perfect just as we all have sinned. Most of us are not in love with the government. Why? They often make rules we disagree with, even the good ones like speed limits. Something in us rebels against not just the human authorities but God’s. I believe it is our sinful nature. Here is Apostle Peter’s appeal to the Pilgrims:   Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man  for the Lord’s sake,  whether to the king as supreme,  14  or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and  for the  praise of those who do good.  15  For this is the will of God , that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—  16  as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondse

I Am "Chosen, Special, And A Holy & Royal Priesthood"

Dear Saints, “You also as living stones [like Jesus] are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” As we continue our study of 1 Peter, Apostle Peter speaks to the suffering Pilgrims about the foundation of their faith in Christ. He told them earlier in chapter 1 how God's “ abundant mercy ” has saved them.  Here is the definition of mercy: “Compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm.” And grace is "the free unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and continuing to their regeneration and sanctification." Grace brings us to God to obtain His mercy. Hebrews 4:16. Let us listen to Apostle Peter: 4  Coming to Him  as to  a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God  and  precious,  5  you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifice

The Word Of God The Most Powerful For Change

Dear Saints, Do you know that your words are more powerful than an atomic/nuclear bomb? You say how can that be? On August 6, 1945, President Harry Truman's words commanded the release of the first atomic bomb on Japan.   The President's words came first before the bomb. About 80,000 people died instantly in Hiroshima, Japan.  Now, that is the impact of words of a mere mortal man. How about the words of God? I think you and I have not fully grasped and comprehended the magnitude of God's word. For sure, I have not. It's mind-boggling to think about the power and essence of God’s Word. "By the word of the  Lord  the heavens were made,  And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.  7  He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;  He lays up the deep in storehouses.  Let all the earth fear the  Lord ;  Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.  9  For He spoke, and it was  done;  He commanded, and it stood fast." Psalm 33:6-9. God&
