The Day I Attended Two Funerals - Happy Good Friday & Resurrection Day
Two weeks ago, I attended the funerals of two-family friends on the same day. This was first of its kind in my life. Both were in the same hospital at the same periods. It was a very sober day to be with the immediate families of Rose and George. Death at any age is painful to the living. Lord, please continue to comfort their families and all of us who have lost loved ones recently or in the past. Amen. Funerals have a way of bringing us to confront our eternity and ask ourselves serious questions. The scripture says, " It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart." Ecclesiastes 7:2 Like, the Psalmist said, I have been chewing on this scripture: "Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
