What Do You Call God?

What Do You Call God?
I have heard many a times where people refer to God as the “man upstairs”. Some people just call Him God and never refer to Him by any other name. What do you call Him? Let’s read Romans 8.
Romans 8: 10-17
10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
12Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.[g] And by him we cry, "Abba,[h] Father." 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
What do you call God? Your understanding of your relationship determines what you call Him. Do you call Him “Abba, Father”? It is like calling God, papa or daddy in our own America culture. It indicates a very close relationship. Some people may not have had a very close relationship with their earthly father and sometimes, it clouds how the see the heavenly father. The good news is that we all have been adopted by a a very loving heavenly father whom we can call Abba, Father.
I invite you to crawl into the arms and embrace of our heavenly father and just enjoy Him, knowing that He really cares. Let Abba Father rock you and put you on a swing and just relax because He will never leave you nor forsake. While in His arms, remember that you are co-heir with Christ meaning all that Jesus has is also yours. Can you today, abandon all your worries, concerns, heartaches to Abba Father?
Now, go ahead and practice it. Call Him “Abba Father” as many times as you can and watch Him turn His loving eyes and smiles on you. Remember, you and I never earned it but rather He loved us while we were still sinners. What are you afraid of? “15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship”.
Thank You, Abba Father.
