Resurrection Power in You

Resurrection Power in You

Traveling through the world airports, I have had my share of security searches and screening. I have been through the total body search by the new imaging technology that scans your entire body looking for weapons or explosives. Don’t tell anyone (especially law enforcement agents) but it is true. Any one believing follower of Jesus has in him or her enough God-power to “blow up” the whole World with good deeds for God’s glory. Fortunately the airport scans cannot detect this invisible power in the believers/followers of Jesus Christ. Now you think I am stretching the truth. Well listen to Apostle Paul pray for the Ephesians (and for you and me) to understand what is in us believers in Jesus:

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding[c] being enlightened; that you may know…19 what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Ephesians 1:15-21

Wow! The same Power of Resurrection is for us? Did you hear that? There are powers that destroy what is already created and that is what Satan specializes on (See John 10:10). The ultimate power is the power to bring new life into existence. Only God has that power and that is the power that raised Christ from the dead. This same power is working in us and through us who believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ. For with God, nothing is impossible.

The power of God is available and only works in and through those that believe in Christ. You cannot benefit from the resurrection of Jesus Christ until you believe that it did actually happen. It is not a doctrine or theory. It is a “living power”. Jesus’ crucifixion, burial and resurrection were actual events and a documented part of human history. Do you believe that Jesus died and rose from the dead? I am not asking if you believe in the doctrine, but that it actually happened.

It is Easter week and next Sunday is Resurrection Sunday. A lot of people believe in the doctrines of the Church including the Resurrection. But many people in the Church and the world do not believe in the actual resurrection of Christ. You may be one of them without knowing it. Do you believe in Christ being raised from the dead? If you really do believe; why then are you so afraid of dying and afraid of what Satan can do to you?

Someone defined Grace as follows: “God is doing it.” God has poured His grace upon every believer and He is doing all the work of holiness in our lives. He has enabled and equipped us to do what He is already doing in and through us. We have really no excuse because we have the mighty power of God (exceeding, immeasurable) working in us and through us. Saint of God, please stop fearing and start believing and doing what God has inspired you to do. Take that first step and watch God finish what He has started in you. Is it speaking to someone about new life in Christ, let’s open mouths and God promised He will fill them with the appropriate words.

“If God be for us, who can be against us”. Let’s be reminded of God’s word, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” 1 John 4:4. We have absolutely nothing to fear in this world. There is no “power-sharing” arrangement between God and Satan. It is not like Satan has 50% and God 50%. All power belongs to God and Jesus. What are you afraid of? Go ahead and tell God our Father.

Paul cried that “I may know Him and the power of His resurrection” so that his life will be transformed to a “resurrected living’ in this dead world. Do you really believe in the actual resurrection of Jesus and know Jesus? Then let us live as if Jesus has risen and that we were raised with Him. May we live daily in recognition and understanding of the power of God in our lives. It will only happen through greater intimacy thru prayer and His Word with the One who loved us and died for us. Let us say no today to fear and walk in the boldness of God; “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim 1: 7).

Lord, please open our eyes to see you, know you and understand. Please resurrect any deadness in our lives and relationships – marriages, children, parents, friends, co-workers and school mates. Lord, continue to work out your mighty power in and thru us to offer hope to the hopeless in Jesus name. Lord thank you for all the heavenly spiritual blessings in Christ. Amen.

Happy Resurrection Sunday and Happy Resurrected Living forever!
