The Savior, the Messiah is born - Don't be afraid! Merry Christmas

Luke 2:8-14
That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Like the shepherds, when you see “the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified”. Only holiness without sin can stand God’s radiance. The Lord is saying to you and me "Don't be afraid ". Why? The Savior, the Messiah is born. He has saved us from our sins and from our greatest fear - death. If that be true and it is true why fear? There's nothing to be afraid of.

Yes, your job/home situation may be a mess - even a dead-end job like shepherding. There may be family dysfunctions (we all have it because of our fallen nature) and even health issues of cancer or any other deadly disease. Instead of fear the shepherds ran to meet the Savior who will take away their sins. Run today to see and meet the Savior and worship Him. Singing:

"Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Have you met and believed in the Savior the Christ who died on the cross, buried and rose again and lives forever? Jesus came to take away your sins and mine sins and bring us to God.

Let’s experience real peace today as we put into practice Philippians 4:6-7: "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Go ahead and pray right now. Tell God everything on your heart that is making you anxious. Make sure you make peace with God through the repentance and forgiveness offered to us in the Cross of Christ.

Peace to you and merry Christmas (this is not a cliché but real because Immanuel- God is with us). Loaded with sin = No peace for you. Forgiven of sin = abundant Peace in you.

Now go tell it on the mountains, the hills and valleys that the Savior is born- the only HOPE for all people. Who will you tell this Christmas and this season of your life – whether you are on the mountain, hill or valley of life? Pray for them to see Jesus the Savior who will take away their sins.

Let’s enjoy the holidays with family and friends. Show Christmas on your face – laugh and rejoice in Jesus, the Savior. Hohoho! Merry Christmas to you and family!
