Jesus Our Ruler from Everlasting - Merry Christmas!

Jesus Our Ruler from Everlasting – Merry Christmas!

The Scriptures have been very clear about who Jesus is and what His mission on earth is. It is Christmas! Year! I love it. Christmas is not the beginning of Jesus. It is very crucial and very important that we understand this point. Will we allow Jesus to “rule” and govern our lives now and forever?

Jesus is God and has no beginning and end. If He is not God, He could not have come to be born as a baby during Christmas. If He is not God in human flesh, He would not have go to the cross to die for our sins. If Jesus is not God, our sins cannot be forgiven because He would have been with sin and not a perfect sacrifice for the sins of humans.

If Jesus is not God, He would not have risen from the dead and God cannot be contained in the grave. If Jesus is not God and risen from the dead, everyone who believes and trusts in Him cannot rise from the dead and live forever.

You say, where do you get all these from? From Scripture.

When Jesus was born, Matthew records:

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

5 So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:

6 ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel.’” Matthew 2:1-6

First, let’s debunk some falsehood about Jesus. Christ was a historical figure and can be traced to kings such as Herod and Augustus Caesar. He is not a thing of our imagination. Going beyond that, there is a place called Bethlehem and many live there now and many have visited Bethlehem. I look forward to my visit one of these days.

Bethlehem, the birth place of Jesus was foretold more than thousands of years before his birth. Matthew references prophet Micah:

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me. The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.” Micah 5:2.

Notice Micah’s prophecy. Jesus is “From Everlasting”. Plainly Jesus is God and the whole Scriptures confirm that.

John writes, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend[a] it…..14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1-5, 14.

All things were made by Jesus, please check it out in Genesis 1. Jesus the “Word became flesh.”

Why the big deal? Everything! Many are preaching the false Jesus who cannot save if He is not God. Ask the Mormons and the Jehovah Witness and any other cult whether Jesus is God.

We thank God who humbled himself and came as a baby and went to the cross, died and rose again and He is coming back again to take us to be with Him forever. This is the Gospel and this is what we believe and this the meaning of Christmas.

Joy to the world, the Lord is come. Let the whole earth rejoice. Let’s go tell it to the whole world in the mountains and in the valleys of life. Let there be salvation to all through believe, trust in Christ, repentance and forgiveness for all sins now and forever. Amen.

Who are you answering to? Who is ruling your life, your emotions, thinking and desires? May we submit everything about us to Christ and let Him rule and govern our lives. Let His Words be rich in our lives and let us pour our hearts to Him in ceaseless prayers and praise. Let’s proclaim the God who loves us and we love to the whole world.

Tell someone today about the love of Jesus. He is Immanuel, God with us. The word Jesus means “salvation” and not Christmas sales. There is no other way of salvation for humans; so dismiss the political correctness that says, “Everyone has their own way and let’s just leave them alone.”

Merry Christmas and Salute to our Ruler and Governor, Jesus Christ!
