Are We Really In A Post-Truth Era?

Are we really in a “Post-Truth” era?
The “Post-Modern” world may have just realized it as stated below:
Post-Truth, “It was named Word of the Year in 2016 by the Oxford Dictionary where it is defined as "Relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief".”
“Post-truth politics is a political culture in which debate is framed largely by appeals to emotion disconnected from the details of policy, and by the repeated assertion of talking points to which factual rebuttals are ignored.” Wikipedia
Here is an example of Truth and Post-Truth I saw in a carton. Truth: “I think therefore I am”. Post-Truth: “I believe therefore I’m right”.
Pilate had asked Jesus, “What is Truth?” Listen to the exchange:
37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” 38 Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?”
Hear Jesus in a different exchange: 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:5-6.
During apostle John’s time 2000 years ago, the Church and the world had already been in the Post-Truth era. In fact, I would say since the fall of Adam and Eve when they accepted Satan’s lies.
Now listen to Apostle John’s 2nd Letter:
“1 The Elder, To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth, 2 because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever: 3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with ]you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love….
7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.” 2 John 1-3; 7.
The world does not really care for the truth. In our unredeemed lives and in the lives of all who do not know and trust in Christ, truth is only truth as long as it benefits us. This is human nature but not God’s nature. We now have been “born of God. A new nature and into God’s nature in Christ.
We have a historical, factual, in-person Jesus Christ. It is all verifiable and He is not a figure of our imagination. Jesus is not a concept or an idea. Do not accept those rebuttals that tell us “That’s just what you believe”. They want to minimize the truth so that you stop believing in Christ our Savior and Lord and the soon coming King of kings.
Jesus as God, is the Truth and “because of the truth which abides in us”; and that truth is Jesus Himself, we can live the truth and speak the truth. I believe we are expecting too much from people who do not have Jesus to speak the truth as a lifestyle. The person may speak truth occasionally but Truth flows from the TRUTH that lives in you.
“7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” What is the implication of denying that Jesus came in the flesh? It is the total denial of our faith and basis for our faith and salvation in Christ. Jesus is 100% God and 100% perfect human who has atoned for all sins.
“To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth.” Let’s remind ourselves as John did that Truth binds us together as believers. This is especially true during these election period. The political parties do not bind us together and neither the denominations. Jesus Christ, the TRUTH binds us together in One Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Please let’s love the other regardless of their politics because “we have known the truth.” Amen.
“Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love” That is what apostle John wished all of us and I pray the three abound in your life - “grace, mercy and peace”. Amen.
“31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32.
While we are on this topic of truth, the statement by Pope Francis few days ago on his endorsement of same sex civil union is a lie from hell and must be condemned. Same sex union (I don't even want to ascribe the word "marriage") is an abomination against God and the scripture says in Romans 1:28-32:
"28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness;
they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
Pope Francis is approving those who practice homosexuality. Lord, please have mercy on the pope and deliver him and others from this evil. Jesus died for all sinners and want all to repent and turn to God. Amen.
