Sing The Victory Song
Happy New Year, Saints!
It is time to sing and keep singing the victory song. We thank God for ushering us into the new year, 2022. We are in 2022 for God’s purpose and by His design. Lord, help us know and understand what it is and accomplish your purposes this year.
We continue our study of the book of Revelation in chapter 15. We will meet the angels assigned to release God's final seven bowl judgment plagues on the earth. Before they perform this necessary function in Revelation 16, we will see the martyred Saints in heaven singing the song of Moses and Jesus – a victory song: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty!”
Whatever comes your way this 2022, please keep singing and proclaiming that our God is Great and Marvelous and that He is Lord God Almighty and all Powerful. Nothing is impossible for our God, and He judges evil and vindicates us now and in the end. Hallelujah! May praise and thanksgiving be one of our weapons of warfare in 2022. Amen.
Let’s read Revelation 15, which is a prelude to events to come in later chapters:
Prelude to the Bowl Judgments
15 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete.
2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. 3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:
“Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways,
O King of the saints! 4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name?
For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You,
For Your judgments have been manifested.”
5 After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. 6 And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in pure bright linen, and having their chests girded with golden bands.
7 Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever. 8 The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.” Revelation 15:1-8.
We understand in this chapter that the singing Saints are the martyrs of the great tribulation (see Revelation 7:9-17). Remember, Apostle John is reporting visions in heaven. The singing Saints were beheaded because they refused to worship the beast, the Antichrist and, receive the mark of the beast. They have joined other saints in heaven like those of us raptured before the Great Tribulation.
Notice the question they asked. ”Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name”? The answer is billions fear and worship God, and other billions do not yet. It is a matter of choice and, there are consequences for the options.
Those who refused Jesus as the solution for humanity's sins will face God's wrath that the seven angels will release in Revelation 16.
Where do you stand? I came across a video interview purporting that Elon Musk has accepted Jesus as his savior. I would love that to be true for the richest man on earth (worth over $250 billion). In the video, Elon only said he agreed with some of the principles taught by Jesus. The agreement with Jesus is not enough because many, even the devil, agree with Jesus and are heading to hell. Musk actually said, "If Jesus is saving people...I will not stand in his way." Really? Well Jesus will never force you to trust Him.
Elon Musk has every material thing he wants, and many are working so hard for this American dream. “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36). Lord, please reach Elon where he is and reveal yourself to him. Save him and others who do not yet fully know you, fear, nor worship you.
When we fear God, we do what is within us to run from His wrath to come because "Just and true are Your [His] ways” verse 3. God is love and just and true. He is righteous to judge the world because we all have sinned and are condemned to die. But God’s love has made provision in the person of Jesus, God the Son who died in our place that we may live forever.
This year, will you run on your record or the record of Jesus’ finished/complete work on the cross? Today is the day of salvation and repentance to turn our thinking and ask God for forgiveness. Ask Jesus to fill you and me with His Holy Spirit that we may know Him, believe Him, and trust Him forever as Lord and Savior. Amen.
“For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You.” Verse 4.
Lord, please use us this year in calling all nations to come and worship You. Lord, please show me my part and enable me to accomplish it in 2022. Amen.
