Christ Died For Our Sins, Was Buried And Rose Again - The Gospel And A Good Friday!

 Dear Saints:

This Easter week and beyond, Jesus does not need our sympathy or goosebumps feelings; Jesus requires our obedience to the Gospel – to believe Him and make Christ known to others. Let’s keep it simple, as Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 15:

15 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 

6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.

9 For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11 Therefore, whether it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.....

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”

55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

The work of the Lord is to know and believe Christ (see John 6:29) and make Christ known to others (Mathew 28:19-20). Will you do the work of the Lord? 

Do you know and believe and trust Christ as your Lord and Savior? As Scripture said, repent of your sins today and put your trust in Jesus and you will be saved from the wrath of God to come on those who refuse to believe in Jesus.

Have you made Christ known to others? Please speak to someone this Easter about Christ. Give someone a Gospel Tract. Pray for someone to come to faith in Christ. Request people to join you to pray for specific names to know Christ.

The Lord Bless you. Holy Spirit, please enable us to do the work of the Lord. Lord, we thank you for the forever victory we have in you. Amen.

Remember that many do not have the Hope of Resurrection in Christ which we have received by God’s grace.

  Forgive My Arrogance of Unbelief It just dawned on me that we literally die daily at night and we call it sleep. Then, in the morning, God in His mercy wakes us up to live for another day, perhaps. Please stop and think about it. "Selah."  While asleep, we are temporarily in a different world. My Best Compliment "Idiot"

While preaching and evangelizing in the streets today, I got my best compliment. A man in his car shouted, "Stop wasting your time, idiot." I shouted back to him, "God bless you." Then he retorted, "Shut up idiot". He was vexed by the two-sided gospel signs I was carrying that said, "Jesus is Lord, Repent and Believe." On the other side it said, "All have Sinned. Repent, Turn, And Trust Christ.” It's an honor to be called “idiot” for Christ’s sake. Lord, I thank you. Please Lord, bless this man and reveal yourself to him and many others who were today, confronted with the truth of the gospel, and save them. Maybe this vexed man has seen me on previous Sundays preaching at the same spot.
