All Glory To God - Grow in the Grace & Knowledge of Our Lord & Savior
Dear Saints,
All Glory To God, now and forever - Grow in the Grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We have finally come to the end of our study of 2 Peter. Let’s see how Peter ends and says goodbye to the pilgrims:
“You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. 18 Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.” 2 Peter 3:17-18.
This is the bottom line of life: “All glory to him, both now and forever.”
When all is said and done, we are created to bring glory to God. Who makes something that gives him a headache? No one, and neither does God. He gets joy in us. What else could He get from us?
To live and give glory to God, we "must" know more of Christ, our Lord, and Savior, and grow in His grace. We cannot know enough of God. His knowledge is infinite, so is His grace.
We must first enter into a relationship with God (being born again by His Spirit), continue to know Jesus intimately through prayer and His Words, and daily discover and comprehend His abundant grace. Doing so, we will be overwhelmed by the millions of his unmerited favors and kindness He has bestowed on us. The result is daily and unceasing praise to our God.
We equally grow in grace when we extend grace to others. Yes. To whom much is given, much is expected. “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 4:6.
Jesus is said to be “full of grace and Truth.” As His followers/disciples, we must also be full of grace and truth. When people encounter us on a daily basis, they should experience the grace and truth we have received from Christ. The more we show grace and forgiveness to others, the more we grow in grace. Freely we have received, and freely we must give. This, my friend, brings glory to God.
It’s not just talk but action. We are tested daily on grace by the “sandpaper people” in our lives. Keep in mind that we are equally sandpaper to others. We offend people, too, so let us be gracious to people.
People were attracted to Jesus because He was gracious to them and spoke the truth in love to all. Jesus is our great example and life-giver.
We must never forget the cross of Christ, where His grace, mercy, and love were poured out for us. May we forgive as God has forgiven us through Christ, who paid the penalty for our sins on the cross. Let us never hold another ransom for their offense against us. Jesus did not do that against us.
Who would you be gracious to today by words and deeds? From our home to the heartlands, people are longing for our grace. Our spouses, children, family members, friends, co-workers, and even our enemies are looking for grace and mercy from us. May we be gracious today and forever to all. Amen
May the grace of our Lord Jesus, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you, now and forever. Amen.
