Are You Jesus' Brother or Sister?

Are you Jesus' brother or sister? Many know Jesus Christ. I trust you know Him or have been acquainted with Him. Jesus is a household name even among other religions or even the agnostics. Many would love to be identified with someone popular and good. While Jesus was here on earth, many envied his mother and brothers and sisters. They wished they were Jesus' brother or sister or even his mother. Even in our day, many would wish they are parents or sibling of some great athlete or celebrity. Jesus is more than a celebrity. He is the Son of God. To be Jesus’ brother or sister, you must have the same Father and you must be a child of God. Everyone is not a child of God contrary to popular erroneous believe. Would you like to be a brother or sister of Jesus? Listen to Jesus as He shocks His audience. 46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 47 Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your...

The Unpardonable Sin

The Unpardonable Sin What is it? Matthew 12:31-32: 31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. One thing we know is that Jesus promised his disciples the Holy Spirit and after rising and ascending to heaven, the Holy was sent to be with us and dwell in us. In John 15, Jesus said, 26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning. He also said in John 16: “7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him ...

Mercy and not Sacrifice

Mercy and not Sacrifice We live in the days of pc where political correctness rules and where many have the form of godliness but deny the power of God. People say things that mean nothing. Empty tombs with outward beautiful decorations but filled with dry bones inside. Where outward appearance is more important than the real person inside. There is nothing new under the sun. There were pc people in Christ's days. They were the religious leaders and Pharisees. They were more interested in show business than God's business of redemption. They loved the rules and made many rules that stopped and hindered people from having a relationship with God and people. Are our religious church activities stopping you and me from serving and seeing people for who they really are? People made in the image of God who are very valuable to God. We are all good at dismissing people who do not fall within our preconceived molds. Jesus is confronting us today with his truth and saying stop. S...

Rest in Jesus

Come to Jesus and Get Rest The fact that the world around us is falling apart is no news and surprise to God. When you watch the news and see the chaos in the world and in individual lives including ours, you may conclude that God does not care. If He is God, how could He allow such wickedness and calamities to happen? Those who do not know God arrive at such conclusions and even those who do know him sometimes wander off asking similar questions. Do you have enough trouble in your life and in the lives of people around you? What we need is true rest and it comes to us and to anyone else by revelation of the Father through his Son. Listen to Jesus: 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gent...

Jesus, a Friend of Sinners

Jesus, a Friend of Sinners Who are your friends? Who would people say are your friends? Will people know us because we only hang out with just “Christians”? Do you have friends or are acquainted with people of other faiths and beliefs – Moslems, Hindus, Buddhists, and the new category of the NONES – people who do not have any religion and are not interested in religion; the “bad” boys and girls ? Jesus was rightly accused as follows: ’19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Matthew 11:19. It is time to get out of our “Christian bubble” and to stop speaking our language, the “Christianese”. We must go where the "sinners" are and mingle with them because we used to be one of them until Christ found us using someone. Let us become intentional about getting to know people who don’t think like us and act like us. Jesus came for sinners not the self-righteous. Jesus lives in us...

Not loving Self more than Christ and Confessing Him to All

Not loving Self more than Christ and Confessing Him to All Jesus said things that make you to love him or hate him. Jesus is in our face and speaks truth that he does not mince words. If we are Jesus’ disciples, we must deal with his truth as He confronts us. There are many of such but here are two: 1. “37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 10:37-39 2. 32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Do you think Jesus is serious when He says if you don’t confess Him (tell all about who He is and His love shed on the Cross for our sins), He will not confess you b...
