Who is this Man Jesus, the King?

Who is this man Jesus, the King?

There was a great uproar, excitement and loud shouting of the people and the entire city. Someone very important is entering into the city as a king. The whole city,Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?” Matthew 21:9. This is still the same question for all the cities of America and the world. Who is this man called Jesus?

Everyone must answer for themselves this question. Who is this man? Unfortunately, the people of Jerusalem that were shouting Hosanna, Hosanna would in the next week would be shouting crucify him, crucify him. It is clear the people did not discern who Jesus was. People of today have not discerned who Jesus is even in the churches that are singing and shouting Hosanna, Hosanna.

‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’[e] Hosanna in the highest!” Vs, 5 and 9.

Oh, how we miss and do not discern King Jesus in our church pageantries of today? Is Jesus King in my life? Can he ride on my donkey? Actually, the donkey belongs to him, the Maker, so we are not doing Him a favor. All things were made by him and for him. We are sometimes willing to give Jesus our donkey but we are not willing to give ourselves to Him to ride on. Can Jesus ride on your ego and all your accomplishments to make himself known to the world? Are you willing to suffer shame for the gospel?

Jesus is heading triumphantly to the cross to die for me. My King dying for me? How can it be? What a humiliation? All these just to secure the whole world and reconcile all to a Holy God.

That is enough to shout and continue to shout Hosanna (Salvation), Hosanna (Salvation) has definitely come to us. The salvation of the world was completed on the cross. The world and we need to experience and own this salvation – Jesus. He is the only the Truth, the only Way and the only Life worth living.

What is our expectation of Jesus as we shout Hosanna? The Jews had political salvation in mind and were disappointed when Jesus did not deliver. What kind of salvation do you expect from Jesus? If your expectation is not salvation from sin and unrighteousness, you will be equally disappointed.
Lord reveal yourself to me as my Hosanna, my salvation and my savior and King. Let’s shout but let’s live it and let’s proclaim Jesus the salvation to all.

Help someone this day, this week, this month and this year answer the question, who is this man Jesus? Introduce them to Jesus the salvation. May the Lord thru is Spirit empower us to do so. Amen. Who is on your list to know who Jesus is? Pray for their eyes to open and see Jesus.

Matthew 21: 1-11 The Triumphal Entry

21 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage,[a] at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. 3 And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

4 All[b] this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: 5 “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’”[c]

6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him[d] on them. 8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

“Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’[e]Hosanna in the highest!” 10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”

11 So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”
