2021 A Year of Much Sin and Much More Grace!

Dear Saints:

2021 A Year of Much Sin and Much More Grace!

“20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:20-21.

We may be in for a more turbulent year of 2021.  We thank God for last year of 2020; though a hard year but God was still with us and He will be with us this year 2021.

The events of yesterday in the United States Capital, Washington DC,  where agitators tried to take over the congressional buildings was awful and must be condemned by all of us. There’s no reason and room for such in a civilized society. There were loss of lives to make a political point. We all can speak but uncontrolled anger and hatred has no place anywhere in this world.

However, yesterday January 6th 2021 is a taste of times to come according to Scriptures. “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!" 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

There will be much sin manifestation in 2021. God is not threatened and neither should we as believers and followers of Christ. Where sin abound grace abound much more. We must be possessors of Christ’s grace and dispensers of Christ’s grace in abundance to the world and people around us. How?

  1. Christ is said to be “full of Grace and Truth.” (John 1:14). Christ must dwell in us richly in abundance through His words. Like never before, we must crave the sincere words of God. We must study to show ourselves approved and rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
  2. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:16-17.
  3. We must seek God earnestly in prayer. Praying without ceasing is not an option for us in 2021 if we are going to make it this year. “15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16
  4. We must pray for ourselves and pray for others around us and including our leaders in the church and in the society, governments, business and corporations and other institutions. Leaders will need wisdom to lead otherwise they will lead us into the ditch (See 1 Timothy 2: 1-3).
  5. We must love others like never before as Christ loved us in order to properly dispense the grace we have received. There must be a dismantling of the mentality of “us and them”. We are all in this together for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We must be in the world but not of the world. “But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:7-8.
  6. We must be the truth in Christ, living the truth and telling the truth to all and to ourselves. We must tell the truth in love and not shrink and/or run from it. People’s  lives are hanging in a balance between life and death, heaven and hell; therefore there’s no time to sugarcoat and be politically correct.  We must share the only GOOD NEWS there is, the Gospel of Christ that will set all free. Make disciples of Christ not for yourself nor for your denomination. 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear” 1 Peter 3:15. In 2021, people will experience more hopelessness. We must give the world and people Hope in Christ by pointing them to Jesus Christ.
  7. Be a disciple of Christ in truth and in indeed. Our living and actions must line up with the words of God. We must be followers of Christ, willing to take up our crosses, willingly to suffer for Christ and if necessary die for the sake and name of Jesus Christ. Our words of confession must match our conduct in 2021.

Friends, it’s going to be a year of adventure with Christ where we must trust Christ completely and be at peace and in peace in Him. “ 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. His grace will be sufficient for us in 2021.

And;  “28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:28-29.  Jesus is coming soon for us. Amen!

Lord, we thank you for your grace that has saved us. We are trusting that you who started a great work in us will complete it to your glory. We shall not fear but wholly trust You; for Your grace is sufficient for us in 2021. Lord, let your grace abound for that sinner who does not know you right. Grant wisdom to our leaders and all peoples and nations.

I invite you if for the first time to put your trust in Jesus Christ who died on the cross, buried and rose again to forgive our sins. Pray that the Holy Spirit  will fill you with the knowledge of Christ and His presence. Amen. Thank You.
