THANK YOU LORD
Thank You Lord
Are you looking for a reason to give thanks to the Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth this Thanksgiving Day? Do not look any further. You and I have so much to be thankful for. We have eternal life guaranteed by Jesus. Read with me in Romans.
Romans 5:12, 18-21
12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. ----
18Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
It has been established that all, not some have sinned as a result of Adam’s disobedience. Thank God for the obedience of Christ. He obeyed even to die on the cross for us that we may be counted righteous. Has anyone else died for you? This is all we need to celebrate and give thanks to God.
There is a family whom I know will rejoice so greatly this Thanksgiving Day. This family has a son who had committed murder and had been in imprisonment for years. The case was very obvious and the only thing this son had been waiting for is the death penalty. Just recently, the Governor of the state decided to pardon criminals. Without any appeal or petition to the governor by this young man, he was one of those granted pardon. The young man is still in a state of shock and can hardly believe the generosity of the governor. His family also can hardly believe it. The young man will be home on Thanksgiving Day. It will be a Thanksgiving, never before held in this household. His mother is calling every relative and extended family to gather for this special Thanksgiving.
Do you think the family described above has something to thank God for? You bet, they do. What if I tell you that you are the young man (or woman) in the story? In fact you are the person I described above. The better thing in your case is that yours is not a pardon for temporary life here on earth but ETERNAL LIFE forever.
Go, and make this the most special Thanksgiving you have ever celebrated. Remember, our thanksgiving is based on faith and not on circumstances. The only thing worth bringing to thank God this time is your faith in Him. Nothing else will please Him. Hebrews 11: 6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Do you believe He died for you and now risen and lives forever?
Remember, your turkey is already stuffed rich in GRACE and not just gravy. Enjoy the Lord with your family and friends this Thanksgiving. Give the Lord Thanks and Praise due Him.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
