I will Rise from the Dead. Will You?

I will Rise from the Dead. Will You?

With the latest ISIS bombing in Brussels Belgium, the Western world is scared and worried about the next target. We condemn every act of terrorism and pray God’s comfort for the families in Brussels who lost their loved ones.

Worldwide, there are about 56 million deaths per year, 153K deaths per day, 6.5K every hour and 107 deaths every second. We cannot not escape death because “it is appointed unto man/woman once to die and afterwards, judgment”. The real question is am I going to rise from the dead into a glorified body to be with God forever? Are you? Everyone will rise from the dead for judgment, but some with a glorified body that will never die again.

I thank God Jesus rose from the dead and is alive and sited at the right hand of the Father. Like Jesus, I will rise from the dead with a brand new glorious body just as Jesus’ resurrected body. I believe and trust in the crucified and risen Christ who paid for all my sins and reconciled me to God the Father.

Easter is not just a remembrance of the resurrection of Christ. Our own resurrection day is coming. We will be resurrected and transformed just as Jesus was transformed. Hallelujah! Paul would remind his Philippian friends and us:

“17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. Philippians 3:17-21

The raising from dead of Lazarus and others in the bible times was good but nothing compared to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Those others eventually died because they were raised to the same body – natural body. But Christ was raised to a glorified immortal spiritual body and is sitting at the right hand of God.

Are you waiting for Christ’s return? If you are, what are you doing to wait for HIM? When He comes He will transform our lowly bodies into His glorious body. Our eyes shall see faith and there will be no more need for faith and hope but only the love of Jesus will remain forever.

Paul reminds us of the distinction between “enemies of the cross of Christ” and true followers of Christ. While their minds are set only on this world and earthly things, however, true followers have their citizenship in heaven. I thank God that this is not my permanent home. I yearn and desire our heavenly home where we belong. May this perspective change our daily living, expecting the soon return of Jesus.

Please read the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 15: Here are some excerpts:

16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable…
“The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body”.

If there is no resurrection, why get saved, why serve and why bother being sanctified?

I will be raised to the same gloried body as Christ, Paul calls Jesus the first fruit of the resurrection meaning we are coming behind Jesus and He is the first. Glory to God!

“Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord”.

Friends, Christ is risen indeed. Let us rejoice in the Lord. Resurrection is REAL. Let’s tell the whole world the good news of Christ, the savior and the Lord. We thank God for Christ. Amen.

Happy Resurrection to you and your family!
