Dear Saints:
Yes, almost everyone is tense not knowing the final outcome of the USA election. First, we thank God that there were no bloodshed during the election and that Americans participated as never before. Whether your candidate is winning or losing right now, may we be reminded and assured of one thing, God is still with us and He loves us very much and died for us.
No one else has ever died to save us from our sins and from the wrath of God except Jesus Christ. No Presidential candidate can and/or should ever take the place of Christ in our lives.
We should also rest in the assurance of God’s Word: "All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the Lord, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You. 28 For the kingdom is the Lord’s, And He rules over the nations.” Psalm 22: 27-28.
Yes, the Lord rules over the nations including America. God is in perfect control so let us be at peace at all times.
May I encourage us to read Romans 13 for God’s perspective on the institution and role of the government – “for they are God’s ministers”. Apostle Paul ended the discussion with these words, “8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law…“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor.” Romans 13:8,10.
We owe love to each other and to every American. All in the government are “God’s Ministers” (servants) to do good to the people. God will use any government to accomplish His greater purposes because God rules the nations. Check out President Neb (King Nebuchadnezzar) in the OT whom God used to discipline His people Israel.
“And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:11-14.
May we be part of the solution and sow peace and not "strife and envy" in America and all over the world.
Let us pray:
Lord, we thank you again for the election and that you will help resolve it and bring it to a conclusion. We are trusting you for the welfare of America and all nations because you rule the whole world. Lord, please grant us the grace to live for your glory in these last days and to be your light to our neighbors and to the whole world. Lord, may your perfect peace abide with us and with every American during these seasons as we put our trust in You. Amen.
Please encourage someone today with the Word of God and introduce them to Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He rules over all houses including the White House.
Let us continue to pray. God hears and answers.
