John the Baptist Beheaded for Christ the Truth

John the Baptist Beheaded for Christ the Truth John the Baptist came for one purpose to announce and point Israel and all people to Jesus. Read how his mission ended. Are we ready to go all the way for Jesus and His truth? Matthew 14: At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the report about Jesus 2 and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.” 3 For Herod had laid hold of John and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife. 4 Because John had said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” 5 And although he wanted to put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. 6 But when Herod’s birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod. 7 Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask. 8 So she, having been prompted by her mother, said, “Give me John the Baptist’s h...

Son of God or Son of the Devil?

Son of God or Son of the Devil? We continue our look at the parables of Jesus. This time it is the parable of the great harvest at end of time. We learn the following from the parable: There are only two classes of people - the sons of God and the sons of the devil, the just and the wicked, the righteous and those who practice lawlessness, the sons of the kingdom and the sons of the wicked one. There are also the good seeds and the tares. There are also two sowers - the Son of Man, Christ Jesus, the sower of the good seeds and the sower of the tares, the enemy, the devil. Only the two classes as summarized above count and matter to God at the end. The world is divided only into two classes. It is not three -republicans, democrats and the independents; not the obvious two male and female, not the multiple races of black, white, brown and yellow and certainly not into the seven continents, nor into the West and the developed and the developing countries. All these others are irr...

Bear Fruit; Don't Kill the Seed of God's Word in You

Bear Fruit, Don't kill the seed of God 's word in you Most of us will say we believe God but is His seed, His Word bearing fruit in our lives? I have found that I am the number one enemy of seed bearing fruit in my life. Have you taken stock to see that in you ? I can blame the devil all I want but I have the great responsibility to believe in God and trust him. Believing the word of God is my part not God's part. God will not believe for you or me. That makes us humans and not robots. Jesus Christ brings this point home in this chapter of the parable of the sower where cares of this world and deceitfulness of riches choke the Seed of God's word in anyone. When we are worried and consumed by our own cares, we rarely notice people around us who need to be loved and ministered to by the Spirit of Jesus in us. There is no middle ground. We either believe God whom we have not seen or we don't. God is either true or he is not. God either exists or he doesn't. ...

Are You Jesus' Brother or Sister?

Are you Jesus' brother or sister? Many know Jesus Christ. I trust you know Him or have been acquainted with Him. Jesus is a household name even among other religions or even the agnostics. Many would love to be identified with someone popular and good. While Jesus was here on earth, many envied his mother and brothers and sisters. They wished they were Jesus' brother or sister or even his mother. Even in our day, many would wish they are parents or sibling of some great athlete or celebrity. Jesus is more than a celebrity. He is the Son of God. To be Jesus’ brother or sister, you must have the same Father and you must be a child of God. Everyone is not a child of God contrary to popular erroneous believe. Would you like to be a brother or sister of Jesus? Listen to Jesus as He shocks His audience. 46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 47 Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your...

The Unpardonable Sin

The Unpardonable Sin What is it? Matthew 12:31-32: 31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. One thing we know is that Jesus promised his disciples the Holy Spirit and after rising and ascending to heaven, the Holy was sent to be with us and dwell in us. In John 15, Jesus said, 26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning. He also said in John 16: “7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him ...

Mercy and not Sacrifice

Mercy and not Sacrifice We live in the days of pc where political correctness rules and where many have the form of godliness but deny the power of God. People say things that mean nothing. Empty tombs with outward beautiful decorations but filled with dry bones inside. Where outward appearance is more important than the real person inside. There is nothing new under the sun. There were pc people in Christ's days. They were the religious leaders and Pharisees. They were more interested in show business than God's business of redemption. They loved the rules and made many rules that stopped and hindered people from having a relationship with God and people. Are our religious church activities stopping you and me from serving and seeing people for who they really are? People made in the image of God who are very valuable to God. We are all good at dismissing people who do not fall within our preconceived molds. Jesus is confronting us today with his truth and saying stop. S...

Rest in Jesus

Come to Jesus and Get Rest The fact that the world around us is falling apart is no news and surprise to God. When you watch the news and see the chaos in the world and in individual lives including ours, you may conclude that God does not care. If He is God, how could He allow such wickedness and calamities to happen? Those who do not know God arrive at such conclusions and even those who do know him sometimes wander off asking similar questions. Do you have enough trouble in your life and in the lives of people around you? What we need is true rest and it comes to us and to anyone else by revelation of the Father through his Son. Listen to Jesus: 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gent...
