Jesus, the Eternal Life

Dear Saints:

We have finished the study of the big John (the Gospel of John) and now let’s study the small Johns (Letters/Epistles of John). We believe the same apostle John wrote these including the book of Revelation.

Apostle John wrote to expose false teachers/prophets of his day and to give believers valid assurance of their salvation. We desperately need both today. I don’t want to be deceived by the 95% non-gospel and 5% gospel messages of our day. It is still false if it is not 100% Gospel – Jesus Christ born of a virgin in the flesh, lived a righteous perfect life, crucified, died, buried, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, interceding for us and coming back soon for His Church, His body to take us away.

Here are Jesus’ own words, “ 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Mathew 7:15-20.

Friends, there is too much noise, information overload around us these days thru the media, internet and even in the church. May we discern and know which ones are false or truth. Amen.

Let’s now read 1 John 1:

1 John 1 New King James Version (NKJV)

What Was Heard, Seen, and Touched

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that [a]your joy may be full.

Fellowship with Him and One Another

5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
