The Word of Life

Dear Saints.

We count it all joy and rejoice today as we all are going through the trials of our faith that is producing patience in us (James 1:1). We rejoice greatly because we have the “Word of Life”, Jesus, the Eternal Life living in us and with us. Do you realize what we have? The Word of Life? This is the Word that saves us, Life Himself, the Way, and the Truth?

This Word of Life is not just for us but for all. The Word of Life is the basis of any fellowship with God and with one another. You and I have been entrusted with the “Word of Life” to speak life (Jesus) into existence in another person.

Please listen to apostle John, “that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ”. There are those who deny that Jesus came in the flesh from heaven. John is saying, “I have seen and touched Him” He is as real as can be.

In this times of racial hatred and calls for change, this becomes very meaningful for us. John is saying, I can’t have true fellowship with you and with God apart from the “Word of Life”, Jesus the Eternal Life.

We must speak the “Word of Life” to all in this season. We are reminded in Proverbs 18:21 that , “The tongue has the power of life and death.” Your words can speak life or death to the hearer. We are to speak the words of grace. “6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.” Colossians 4:6. The words of grace are the Words of Life and words of Jesus. John already told us Jesus is the “word that became flesh” and was full of “grace and truth” (Gospel of John 1).

1 John 1:

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that [a]your joy may be full.” 1 John 1: 1-4.

We all have the power, our tongues. Use your tongue to speak the Word of Life to all today and in this season. John says he is writing that our “joy may me full”. Your joy can only be full in knowing the person of Jesus the Word of Life, the Eternal life. Nothing else will fill you with real and permanent joy.

Who will you speak the Word of Life, the word of grace to today? Many are speaking the words of hate and death today. Let us be different because like apostle John, “we have seen, and bear witness “ of Jesus. You are a witness because Jesus through His Holy Spirit lives in you and me.

Lord, thank you that You live in us. Today, please help me to know You beyond any shadow of doubt and help me to seek you and make you known to all. Grant me the boldness and love to speak of you. Help me to be a demonstration of your love today. Amen.
